Laika was the name of the first space dog. She was born in 1954, in Russia.
My Laica, portraied in these drip-drawings, was born many years after that, but I never met her as a puppy. She was a black and white dog who found us late in her dog-adult life. We invited her into our home and it felt like she had always been there.
My Laica was very special indeed and I wish you could have all met her – I’m sure you would have been just as inspired as I am.
